🎨 Artist Boot Camp adventures at Fairfield Community High School are in full swing in the art studio with Mrs. Hurd leading our awesome group of 9th through 12th graders!

Day 1: Kicked off with a giant post-it note mural puzzle. Each student drew a piece of the image, then everyone teamed up to put it together as a group—artists collaborate, after all!

Day 2: Got hilariously inventive by drawing with everything but our hands—using giant sticks, our feet, even our armpits—just to experiment and embrace those happy accidents.

Day 3: We dived into tower-building challenges, seeing who could craft the tallest, most creative, and sturdiest structures out of spaghetti, Model Magic, pipe cleaners, and tape.

It’s all about taking risks, overcoming challenges, and remembering it’s okay to restart and experiment. More Boot Camp fun to come!

Parents & Guardians

FCHS would like to make you aware of information that was shared with our students to help encourage school safety and learning.

🪪NEW
Starting this year, FCHS will require all students, staff, and extended visitors to wear school ID’s throughout the day. These ID’s will be used to help with our free lunch count and to identify those who should be in the building. Students will be given some grace until they become acclimated to the new ID, after that grace period, there will be consequences for continued offenders.

📲Same Policy-Better Enforcement
FCHS has a current policy of no cell phone usage in the classrooms. Students have been allowed to carry and use phones during passing periods, lunch, and study hall. As a district and staff, we have recognized that many districts have banned phones within the confines of the school building. We at FCHS see this as a bit extreme, but recognize that we, as staff and administration, have become extremely lax with our enforcement of our own policy. FCHS feels that by strictly enforcing our current policy, we can decrease distraction and increase learning for our students. Students have been made fully aware of the consequences of phone usage during class periods. Parents/Guardians, if there is an emergency, please contact the main office immediately at 618-842-2649, and we will get your student immediately. If it is a non-emergency situation, please feel free to call or text your student between passing periods and at lunch. The bell schedule can be found in the student handbook.
